IIM Ahmedabad strives to make a difference in society through the application of knowledge. This is reflected in our motto, Vidya Viniyoga Vikas – development through application of knowledge. The transformation of society, commerce and industry cannot be achieved without the transformation of the for-profit and non-profit organisations and the people working in them. Our endeavour has been to transform the individual, and through him/her transform the organisation and hence the society. The success of this model is evidenced in IIMA being consistently ranked at the top in the national and international rankings. The recently published 2023 Financial Times (FT) ranking of Executive Education has placed IIMA as number one in India, for the second consecutive year.

We began in 1964 with our three-tier general management programme. We offer 200 plus executive programmes in a year covering a wide spectrum of areas, such as leadership, management, marketing, HR, operations, strategy, innovation, finance, analytics and many more. Our programmes are carefully designed by renowned faculty members who are committed to deliver the research-based knowledge and high impact curriculum in key management and functional areas. The programmes are designed and delivered to suit the changing and challenging needs of business leaders and working professionals so that they continue to learn, improve and think differently in their work setups.

IIMA uses the case-based pedagogy, which is rigorous, engaging and action-oriented. It aims to enrich participants with essential skills and capabilities to grow and achieve their individual and organisational goals. Our Open Enrolment Programmes (OEPs) particularly stand out for the teaching methods and materials used in the classrooms, and for imparting new skills and learning.

We partner extensively with businesses in their Learning and Development (L&D) activities by designing and delivering Customised Executive Education Programmes (CEPs) to suit the contextual realities of our client organisations and address the key challenges that the organisation faces. Action Learning Projects allow the learning from classrooms to be integrated into the business context.

Our OEP and CEP participants are welcomed as alumni after completing 21 or more days of training across programmes. The Executive Education alumni continue to engage with their peers and participate in the institute and alumni chapter/Alumni Special Interest Group activities and thereby continue the learning journey.
