The programme is designed for mid-level and senior executives who have had very little exposure to the Finance function, but who are likely to assume P&L responsibility in the near future. It is also for those managers who think that their role requires significant commercial acumen for effective performance and have not been formally trained in the basics of finance and accounting. The programme will cover various topics in the field of Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Management Control Systems, Financial Markets and Corporate Finance taking a top-down perspective. The programme also has a strategic management module to provide a broader perspective on the business context and commercial negotiations to build commercial skills.
 

Course Duration: Spread over 6 to 7 months
 

Frequency: Once a week
 

Class Schedule: Sunday - 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
 

Evaluation Methodology:

IIM Ahmedabad shall carry out the evaluation required for certification.

Participants are evaluated on the basis of assignments, quizzes and examinations for all the courses.
Participants will be given any one of the following grades: “Satisfactory Plus” (S+);  Satisfactory” (S); “Unsatisfactory” (U).

A participant will be asked to leave the programme and the fees will then be forfeited in any of the following cases:

  1. If a participant gets 2nd U for academic indiscipline wherein Academic Indiscipline includes cheating/copying/ plagiarism in assignments and examinations and facilitating cheating in any way or is found having integrity issue during the programme.
  2. If a participant gets 4th U for under-performance.
  3. If a participant gets 1 U for academic indiscipline and 3Us for under-performance.
  4. The norms of the programme require a participant to attend at least 80% of attendance to become eligible to receive the certificate, failing which a participant won’t be awarded the certificate
     

Evaluation Mode:

Evaluation may also include one or more of the following:

Online Assessment/Case Study, Discussions/Quiz/Assignments/Offline Assessment (Paper-pencil test)/Class Participation. The final decision on evaluation methods rests with the course faculty and may change without prior intimation.­­
 

Mode of Delivery:

The programme will be delivered on JITMRL platform through direct-to-desktop [D2D] held once a week and campus modules at IIM Ahmedabad.
 

Certification:

At the end of the Programme, eligible participants will receive a Certificate of Completion (CoC) of the Programme from IIM Ahmedabad subject to the assessment and fulfilment of attaining overall 80% attendance.
 

Alumni Status:

Participants who are attending short-duration Executive Education Programmes for the first time, on or after April 1, 2012, will have to attend for a total of 21 days in one or more programmes in order to be eligible for alumni status and alumni identity card, both of which will be awarded on the payment of a one-time alumni fee of INR 10,000/- + GST.
 

Selection: Selections will be based on evaluation of individual profile & Statement of Purpose (SoP)
