Chartered Accountants, by virtue of their acumen and knowledge in accounting and finance, continue to make a mark in the business world. In a fast-changing world; as the businesses become more complex and the regulatory framework becomes more stringent, the role of a CA is evolving unceasingly to assume newer professional and managerial responsibilities. The main objective of this program specifically designed for CAs, is to provide in-depth domain knowledge and help them acquire business and managerial orientation by acquiring perspectives and requisite skills, so that they can make a difference at an early stage of their career as a manager. At the end of the programme, the participants will not be only comfortable with finance and accounting functional roles but would have acquired cross-functional perspective to become an effective manager. The programme will prepare the young CAs to acquire basic understanding of functions such as marketing, operations, information systems, human resource management and organizational behaviour in addition to honing personal skills such as computing, communication, self-awareness, social and leadership.
Advanced topics in Finance and Accounting: Financial Statement Analysis as a Business Manager, Managerial Accounting and Control Systems, Corporate Finance, Business Valuation, Risk Management using Derivatives, Financial Markets operations, Fixed Income Securities and Project Finance
Understanding Business Environment and Competitive Strategies: Economic Environment of Business, Strategic Management and Sources of Competitive Advantage.
Understanding other Functional Areas: Introduction to Marketing, HR, Organizational Design and Culture, Information Systems, Operations Management
Enhancing Personal Skills: Data and Quantitative Analysis, Written Analysis and Communication, Individual dynamics, Leadership, Entrepreneurial Mind-set etc.
The programme is meant for all young CAs who have chosen or aspiring to work with corporate sector (Indian/MNCs, large/mid-size/small firms), large CA firms, or consultancy firms. The participants may be sponsored by their employers or be self-sponsored. The applicants to the programme should be Chartered Accountants having less than 3 years of experience and should have reasonable comfort with English as the medium of instruction.
Case sessions, lectures, workshops, tutorials, and participant-centred learning pedagogies will be used in the programme. The programme will also include tutorial sessions and speaker sessions. All the participants are expected to be in full-time residential basis and based on evaluation of the participant, each successful participant will be given the certificate of completion at the end of the programme.
